Rizatriptan (10mg) for migraine

Tastes very bad, probably comes from the aspartame, which is also trash. But the first times i took it, it helped after about two hours, then slowly it went away. This is better than the whole day though, but the last two times i took it, it did nothing!

Rizatriptan (10mg) for migraine

My 17 year old daughter suffers acute migraine attacks 3 times a year so takes these pills. This evening she was in so much pain she was crying but then once she took the tablet you could see the attack retreating then half an hour later she said she started feeling odd, warm, dizzy and laughing a lot. And then the migraine was gone! She did seem a bit stoned and was laughing a lot but it helps...

Zolmitriptan (2,5mg) for migraine

Need to know if other people have these effects. Maybe I don't use it well. I take half doses only, I wait to see if I can control the migraine by relaxing, taking the air, etc... Rebound effect after 24 hours for at least three days, dehydration.

Metoprolol (12,5mg) for migraine

Since I started using this I have had no (or hardly any) migraines. I do sometimes get a little tired or dizzy but not badly. I've got a lot of faith in this.

Amlodipine

Amlodipine (5mg) for migraine

I've suffered with migraines since I was 15. Tried everything. After I started taking medicine for high BP, the attacks reduced in terms of severity and they are now controllable with sumatriptan. Since the cardiologist gave me exforge, which contains amlodipine among other things, I haven't had a single migraine. Because my BP was really low, I stopped taking exforge. Five weeks later, the mig...

Rizatriptan

Rizatriptan (5mg) for migraine

My monthly migraines last around 2 days/evenings. Rizatriptan (and before that Maxalt) work well and I wake up headache-free. It narrows the blood vessels which is necessary for me during the day time. My side effects: lightheaded, dizzy, nasty taste in my mouth. It does take about an hour before it kicks in. The orodispersible tablets are not nice, taste like blueberries, only worse. But they ...

Zolmitriptan

Zolmitriptan (2,5mg) for migraine

When I feel a migraine coming on, I take 2 excedrin. It often then goes away. But if it doesn't then I also take 1 zolmitriptan and it is almost always completely gone within one hour (but I do also go and lie down in a darkened room). I do have to say that I get headaches every day though and they end up being migraines if I don't take anything. Zolmitriptan is the only way then that I am able...

Sumatriptan (20mg) for migraine

Been using this medicine now for about 2 years and I can't really cope without it anymore. as soon as I feel a migraine coming on, I take one pill and try to sleep for an hour and then it's gone. but unfortunately it makes you feel really groggy and you also can't drive a car. yesterday and the 4 days previous I've had attacks so not particularly happy with that, hate having headaches/migraines...

Maxalt

11/24/2016 | | 32moderated by Henry
Rizatriptan (10mg) for migraine

I've had migraines since I was 14 and I've tried most of the triptanes. Maxalt works every time without a single exception. Side effects that are easy to handle, for me, are the extreme sleepiness, difficulty swallowing and having to go to the loo a lot. The worst side effect is the way in which my jaw clamps shut, and then the pain I have in it the following day. Sometimes this pain even leads...

Sumatriptan

9/29/2016 | | 31moderated by Philip
Sumatriptan (50mg) for migraine

After having very regular headaches on my left hand side above my eye and which ordinary painkillers and ibuprofen didn't cure I went to see a doctor. It was diagnosed as migraine most likely caused by my mirena coil. Prescribed Sumatriptan and I must say that it certainly helps with the headaches but the side effects are not pleasant. Sometimes 1 tablet is enough, sometimes I need to take 2 a ...

Metoprolol

9/28/2016 | | 50moderated by Charlotte
Metoprolol (25mg) for migraine

Took metoprolol for hormonal migraines. It seemed to make sense to take the 25 mg delayed-release ones. For me, the worst side effects were feeling very stressed and insomnia. I combined it with nitrazpam every third night to get some sleep. Halved the dose after 6 weeks because of the stress and lack of sleep. Then it was totally ineffective against the migraines and the side effects were even...

Relpax

9/8/2016 | | 34moderated by Charlotte
Eletriptan (40mg) for migraine

Relpax is my miracle drug. Without Relpax I simply can't function. I usually have 1 or 2 migraines a week, sometimes even more. Without Relpax all I can do is lie in bed vomiting. I might get loads of side effects from Relpax and I don't feel particularly great after I've used it, but at least it means I can stay functional and work.
