I've had migraines since I was 14 and I've tried most of the triptanes. Maxalt works every time without a single exception. Side effects that are easy to handle, for me, are the extreme sleepiness, difficulty swallowing and having to go to the loo a lot. The worst side effect is the way in which my jaw clamps shut, and then the pain I have in it the following day. Sometimes this pain even leads to a migraine. I took this during my pregnancy (up to week 20 with the approval of the neurologist) because the attacks were worse and more frequent and nothing else helped. Baby is perfect.
