metropolo and atorvastatine dont work together, they make me incredibly tired, as well as lots of muscle pains so ive stopped taking metropolo and now it's manageable again.

First tried 40 mg simvastatin but I had loads of side effects with that like muscle pain. Then I switched to atorvastatin and to start off with (for 9 months) that seemed to work. But what's odd is that I am now getting side effects again, like muscle pain, fatigue, poor sleep, condition getting worse, joint pain (especially hip, neck, and back).

Use this because of a heart attached and a little too high a cholesterol. No problems at the start. But very slowly, more and more side effects. Above all, pain in my feet and numbness in my feet. It seems I have polyneuropathy. This is a side effect. Says NB in the patient information leaflet but it's not very clear. Doctor didn't agree with the seriousness of it. Polyneuropathy is permanent. ...

After I had a stent fitted my cholesterol had to be drastically lowered. The 40 mg tablets helped really well but the side effects were pretty bad: muscle pains in my limbs, reduced mobility, flatulence, stomach complaints. As of 15th September 2016, I've been reduced down to 20 mg. The side effects have gone and my cholesterol levels are acceptable.

Severe muscle pains and cramps in my back. Was seeing a physiotherapist and manual therapist to no avail. Then stopped taking atorvastatin for 2 weeks and the pain symptoms were considerably reduced. On advice from the cardiologist, re-started taking the atorvastatin (according to the cardiologist the side effects should disappear within a couple of days) but after 3 days terrible muscle pains ...

one day I started experiencing lots of muscle pain so I went back to the GP who prescribed this for me, my first tablets were atorvastatin a few years ago now, then Crestor and now simvastatin, but now what? I have been told that I don't have a choice either I take this medicine or I have a heart attack.

I had been taking simvastatine for 6 months because of thrombosis in October 2015 but I really suffered with side effects like muscle pain, fatigue and listlessness. The doctor advised me to switch to Atorvastatine (focus) and after only 1 week's use, not one single side effect, I hope I can take this medicine better than the other one.

The side effects of Atorvastatine are negligible after having used simvastine. After only using it for 1 month, the pharmacist was no longer able to supply it. Switched to branded atorvastatine, Focus. This certainly had more side effects, headache, back ache, foot cramps, palpitations.

Since the start of the year, the pharmacist, in her wisdom, has been replacing my Pfizer medicine, which was prescribed by the cardiologist, with that of Teva. Since she has done so, I have experienced increasingly worsening muscle pain in places I haven't had it before. NB the reason for this medicine switch was a mistake by the pharmacist which meant a surplus in stock. In the meantime it was...

I need to take this for hereditary hypercholesterolaemia. I've also had 80 mg of atorvastatin which considerably reduced the cholesterol in my blood. The lower dose doesn't. Probably because of the combination with rheumatism and muscle problems it has affected my muscles more.

I take this medicine because, on my father's side, there's a very good probability that there's a defective gene. I don't smoke, only drink at the weekend and exercise pretty much every day. Which is why I find it so annoying that this medicine is causing me so much trouble. It hasn't gone away, actually it's got worse. I have mentioned this but it's been ignored. It's now starting to really af...

After taking 20 mg for years my cholesterol values are high again. That's why, in consultation with my GP, up to 40 mg. The problems began after a couple of weeks: stabbing muscle pain for no apparent reason in my arms and legs, back pain, itchy legs which I scratched so much overnight I started to bleed, headache and the feeling that all of a sudden I was 30 years older. Once again spoke to my...

I'd been to the GP twice for headache problems, then I was referred to the neurologist, my blood was also checked. They couldn't find anything and was sent home with the advice to relax. I've taken other vastatins before but they gave me terrible bowel pain. I'm thinking about stopping them again. I shouldn't really stop because according to the doctor I'm at a higher risk of heart problems. I'...
