I use this for my depression and mood swings. and they're good sleeping pills, for sleep I take 4 x 300 mg long-acting. I also take 3 x 20 mg temazepam and 3 x 10 mg diazepam. I sleep really badly but now that I've got my driving licence back, i'm starting to come off them, slowly. Seroquel has given me a dry mouth and made me put on weight, eat more.. so that needs to stop.

First of all I was given the usual 2 x 300 mg. I had to pee every 15 minutes for the first 4 hours after taking it. Then I was given 2 x 300 mg XR. Couldn't pee at all and went straight back to the doctor. Apparently it's urine retention, a side effect of Seroquel!! What a pain!! Stopped taking it straight away, the total daily dose of 600 mg. Urgent consultation with the psychiatrist and start...

Hi all, I'd really like to give you all my opinion. My experience with this medicine is out-and-out terrible. I take the right amount of medicines and in the past I've had various other anti-psychotics but they have all had all manner of side effects. I'm not going to name them all because there are simply too many, but palpitations, difficulty breathing and incontinence were the regular ones. ...

Because of the increase in my appetite and because this is a pretty drastic drug I have taken it upon myself, after years, to reduce from 200 to 25 mg

I take this medicine for my anxiety. I take 2×25 mg a day. It helps me well, I sleep good on it but I often remain drowsy for half a day. Not allowed to stop taking it afraid that my anxiety will come back.

I had an allergic reaction and had to be taken to a hospital by ambulance. I thought I was dying. Absolutely horrible! I’m never going to take these medicines again!

To start off with I had temazepam for my insomnia but because you can't have it for the long term, the psychiatrist prescribed me Seroquel. It's an antipsychotic but sleepiness is one of the side effects and he had had good experiences with it. I started on 25 mg but this worked too well, I could hardly wake up at all. After a few days I started taking just half a tablet (easy to cut with a pil...

I was prescribed 25 mg Seroquel for insomnia (chronic) the number of side effects I experienced was enough to stop. As an apnoea patient, as far as I am concerned, this is not the best choice, my breathing was affected so much that it was not good for me and this was just from 1 x 25 mg tablet. I also got a banging headache and was really dizzy, to which they said: Persevere! That's the marketi...

seroquel has changed my life – from totally unbearable to a stable life. i've been taking this medicine for 3 years and haven't got any side effects any more. The first few months that I was taking the medicine there were a few minor ones. It took me a bit more time in the mornings to get up and wake up, everything just went a bit slower.

This drug is like a miracle but a disaster on the other hand as you're always, always eating. I've been trying to maintain my weight for 4 years and I've also had a gastric bypass but this drug means you can't lose weight. On Monday I am going to start attending a clinic to help me stop taking seroquel. I take 350 mg and I'm terrified of stopping but I really want to get my life back.

I've been using this for about 6 years now. At the time this was prescribed for me by the psychiatric ward of a hospital when I was just going round and round in circles (worrying basically) and was feeling suicidal. I can't tell that it does anything but they won't take it off my prescription. At the time my psychological state of mind was such that this should have helped but in the meantime ...

About 8 years ago had really severe psychosis. First used maniprex and depakine and they gave me really bad side effects. Mostly terrible shaking and spots. So then I switched to seroquel. Luckily no more psychoses, now and then a bit depressed and the odd suicidal thought, usually when I relax...

First started on 2×25 mg to also help reduce my anxiety during the day. It reduced my anxiety but it didn't seem to help my sleep. Then I switched to 1×50 mg at night (during the day I was better able to handle my anxieties) and since then (now about one half years) I been able to sleep really well.

Despite all the side-effects, Seroquel has actually made my life better. Without Seroquel I have really bad mood swings, hypomania periods where I struggle with my environment, abuse alcohol, can't sleep, feel paranoid. For me and my environment, Seroquel is the solution which enables me to live an acceptable life.

For a few years now I've taken a variety of antidepressants and sleeping tablets. Apart from my sleeping tablets I have never noticed any effect. A few months ago I started taking Seroquel and everyone around me said that I had changed. I am less irritable and the extreme highs and lows with suicidal thoughts have balanced out. But I do feel numb and that I will never again really feel happy or...

Living with depression is definitely not nice but after taking this medication I have no life… Terrible… At the moment I have to keep taking it but because I already know how I react to it and how will feel I'll keep at it. I will take it but… with great reluctance!!! Now I'm taking 100 mg and from tomorrow that's going up to 150 mg and according to the specialist I'm "have" to go up to 250 mg…...

My psychiatrist prescribed me this dose. But one year on and I have gained 35 kg. I've got diabetes and gall stones, obesity. I'm now tapering off seroquel. When I've stopped it completely, my gall bladder will be removed then when I've recovered from the operation I'm going to follow an obesity programme, with a gastric band. Seroquel has ruined most of my body.

Personally, I have experienced any of the negative reactions on here, but I'm only taking a low dose of this medicine alongside escitalopram 5 mg. Excellent medicine (a good combination?), before I was extremely paranoid, couldn't sleep, constantly panicking, really down and depressed. So many mood changes I was exhausted. Seroquel has really reduced this. for the first 2 weeks I suppose I was ...
