My father was driving, reading the newspaper, watching TV, walking even though it was slow, shopping in the company of my mother, talking, arguing, arguing, getting angry, could get mad... lived!! -> Paranoid disorders, real and unreal delusions, loss of memory, conspiracy theory: Risperdal's prescription. It is now like a vegetable on a chair all day (with diaper as it does on it); He can't e...

This was offered to me to help keep me calm. The retard version helped me to sleep, took it at 9pm but then during the day I was really groggy. That's why I switched to the short-acting version, which lasts for 7 hours.

I have recently started taking quetiapine retard for my bipolar disorder and I'm really happy with it. I sleep better (above all) but I am also generally in a better mood, I feel lighter (can rationalise better) and I'm more active again. but at the same time I have also noticed that I find it harder to motivate myself to actually do anything. The only (minor) side effect I've experienced is th...

I've been struggling for years with my bipolar disorder. Not one single mood stabiliser seems to have worked. Not even lithium. On Seroquel I gained about 30 kg. This was number 7. And finally. Together with Bupropion. You don't gain weight on it. I'm staying the same. The Bupropion stops me from getting depressed. Unfortunately there are very few Dutch doctors who know anything about it. But m...

seroquel has changed my life – from totally unbearable to a stable life. i've been taking this medicine for 3 years and haven't got any side effects any more. After a slow increase, I am now taking 100 mg but I still haven't noticed any improvement. The psychiatrist said that it can still be increased up to 400 mg. So I'm hoping that we'll eventually get to a dose that helps me.

I started on 50 mg quetiapine yesterday. As well as that, I've been taking 450 mg Wellbrutin for years. I have a bipolar disorder and most recently really suffered with mood swings. I have got the quetiapine to suppress the mood swings. I am really shocked at the effect of quetiapine. I find it far too strong, so much so that as soon as I've taken it I get really tired and just want to sleep. I...

I've been taking Seroquel for a few years but I wanted to try something else. Invega seemed to be a good option. I gradually stopped taking Seroquel and started invega but when I was on 6 mg of invega I was having nightmares twice a night which was a real battle for me. After one week still no improvement and stopped invega.

My psychiatrist prescribed me this dose. But one year on and I have gained 35 kg. I've got diabetes and gall stones, obesity. I'm now tapering off seroquel. When I've stopped it completely, my gall bladder will be removed then when I've recovered from the operation I'm going to follow an obesity programme, with a gastric band. Seroquel has ruined most of my body.
