I was prescribed this drug for a really bad toothache from an unfinished root canal. It lessened the pain, but did not completely stop the pain. About five days into taking the pills, I developed a severe yeast infection. I have taken other penicillin meds before and this was the worst one. Nothing helps the yeast infection stop itching and burning. Compared to the toothache, the yeast infectio...

The medication works to treat the cause, thought I still needed pain meds. Lots of side effects, personally I would not recommend this medication.

I'd had a high temp (39°C to 40.1°C) for 10 days. After just 10 mins the GP diagnosed me with a bacterial infection in my airways. She also said I'd probably see the fever calming in a couple of days. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. But taking these capsules gave me all manner of side effects. Continuous cramps in my lower abdomen and regular trips to the toilet with loose stools. On top of...

Prescribed this for my jaw inflammation. While I was using it I had no problems with the side effects until the last day, when I came out in a rash all over. Thick, red spots all over me with a terrible itching sensation. The inflammation has gone now, but the rash (nettle rash) is still there, 2 weeks after stopping the course, it's terrible, I'm never having these antibiotics again.

My son (4 yrs) got this medicine for a pneumonia (which wasn’t the cause it seemed after a second opinion). His illness rapidly deteriorated with a high fever. After 2 days he was covered with rash with a swollen throat and couldn’t stand any light. It was an allergic reaction. It’s been a week now and he is still not recovered from the amoxicilline. Tired, rash and stomach ache.

Literally a shite tablet. The effect of the medicine is out-and-out great. The side effects on the other hand are terrible. Diarrhoea, tiredness, headache, etc. etc. all day long. Makes it pretty difficult to stay the course.

Because of these antibiotics, I developed a yeast infection within 3 days that I couldn't do anything about because the usual salves etc. didn't work. So pretty terrible. At least I didn't have pain in my inflamed throat any more.

Got from the dentist for nerve pain because I was going on holiday. Had hellish pain in my molar and after one day it was already less thank god! First few days it make me nauseous and dizzy. The worst side effect is the constipation. Despite all the negative experiences I've read I am actually really happy with this and rather this than that hellish pain. So actually hardly suffered at all wit...

Because of a simple urinary infection, the GP prescribed this medicine for me. From day 1 I was nauseous, had headaches and bladder cramps which meant I couldn't go to the toilet any more. After 3 days I was catheterised and was sick, week and bedridden for the whole week. This also failed to give me any relief. Lying in bed for hours relieved the symptoms a bit and it was bearable. After 7 day...

Six months ago I had my first amoxicillin course because of an attack of fever. No side-effects and better within couple of days. Four weeks ago because of ongoing cough and flu. No side-effects and afterwards reasonably okay. Then a root canal infection and molar removed. The problems came back straightaway. Now on my third course which is also doing what it's supposed to do, but now with bad ...

I'm on day five of these effervescent tablets. I'm really suffering with dizziness and all of a sudden feeling really flu-y. Coughing up loads of phlegm and my nose and ears are really congested. On top of that going between cold and then warm again (possibly fever). The antibiotics were prescribed for a UTI. I've recovered from that but the side-effects are a thousand times worse than the infe...

I've had pharyngitis for 6 months. Amoxycillin didn't help at all and I got really bad muscle pain and cramps from it, so much that I couldn't walk. Stopped taking it 5 days ago and there's no alternative I can take because I breastfeed overnight...I finally stopped taking them with resistance pills from the chemist.

Straight after finishing the course the symptoms came back worse. GP didn't say anything about sensitivity to sunlight and I developed a serious irritation.
