Because of a simple urinary infection, the GP prescribed this medicine for me. From day 1 I was nauseous, had headaches and bladder cramps which meant I couldn't go to the toilet any more. After 3 days I was catheterised and was sick, week and bedridden for the whole week. This also failed to give me any relief. Lying in bed for hours relieved the symptoms a bit and it was bearable. After 7 days of miserable, infernal pain this medicine still had had no effect on the infection and I was given another antibiotic. As soon as I stopped taking the amoxycillin and started taking another broad-spectrum antibiotic Furabide the symptoms disappeared on the first day. 1 week later, the urinary infection had also gone.
