After taking 20 mg for years my cholesterol values are high again. That's why, in consultation with my GP, up to 40 mg. The problems began after a couple of weeks: stabbing muscle pain for no apparent reason in my arms and legs, back pain, itchy legs which I scratched so much overnight I started to bleed, headache and the feeling that all of a sudden I was 30 years older. Once again spoke to my GP and now I've completely stopped taking it to see what happens. He thinks that could also be dangerous. I'll get the results in a couple of days but I feel restored. Never again!
