I've been taking this medicine for so many years. It has given me so many advantages but also a few disadvantages. I have put on a lot of weight because of this medicine and I am now addicted to it. I have been able to reduce the dose considerably over the years but stopping is out of the question for me.

Because of a burn out/depression I couldn't sleep any more. The GP gave me this. It works well but in the meantime I have increased to 25 mg (started out on half that). Regardless of how well I sleep I'm always incredibly drowsy and tired. But I can't sleep without it. I'm afraid that I can't cope without it any more.

Works in case of PTSS, depression and insomnia. Does what it’s supposed to do, in my case no side effects. Dose probably needs increasing.

Since I was 17 I've had problems sleeping, mostly difficulty falling asleep. Apparently I have a delayed sleep phase syndrome in combination with ADHD. quetiapine works for me because it reduces the continual stream of thoughts going through my head so I can fall asleep more easily. First of all I had the usual dose 2 x 300 mg. Needed to pee every 15 minutes for 4 hours after taking it. Then I had 2 x 300 mg extended release. Couldn't pee at all and had to go to the emergency GP. Seemed to be urine retention, a side effect of the Seroquel! What a nightmare!! Stopped straight away with the total daily dose of 600 mg. I've had two catheters inserted one after the other since starting this medication. It gave me urinary retention both times.
