I started to get panic attacks and very anxious plus getting bad thoughts, it had been a slight problem for years. But in February, I had an accident at work, which restricted my mobility. I started to get really bad panic attacks. My doctor prescribed Sertaline 25mg for a few weeks as I was having problems taking a previous depression tablets (reacted badly), I was slowly raised up in 25mg dos...

I have found that I do feel better with just taking the medication, on a wait list for therapy.
I don't feel as anxious and starting to feel like my old self.

Bad side effects first three weeks (Nausea, tiredness, feeling spaced out, unsteadyness, tinnitus ) then suddenly gradual improvement. Like many people say, don't give up hope when you feel lousy.

I was utterly against taking any pills for the anxiety and PTSD that I’m suffering from. I actually put up with nearly a decade of deep despair and found it almost impossible to go out on my own. It was extremely hellish and I often thought of suicide. I was doing psychotherapy three times a week. In a strange way that was often making it worse. I started with 25 mg of sertraline and after a ...

It nubs dark and depressing emotions. In my case, after just a couple of weeks, it has somehow stabilized my mood. Not a great improvement but I have much less ups and downs. Effective against sadness, I was feeling very sad at all times. Not so effective against not feeling capable of doing anything. Less anxious. By now, just 25mg every morning, combined with 2.5mg of diazepam at night. Heada...

I started taking 50 mg sertraline on the advice of the GP for anxiety, increased worry through stress and depression as well. In the 1st week the anxiety increased, the depression and negative thoughts became worse, could barely sleep. Also had lots of bowel problems and hot flushes. But then after about 3 weeks the medicine slowly started to work. Sleeping better, feeling a bit calmer. After 2...

Lots and lots of sexual side effects (not able to climax, no libido) and ultimately the switch for hypomania.

Nothing but side effects. Headache, diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness, no concentration, fever, seeing double and it doesn’t get any better. Coming on took weeks. My mood, fears and restlessness are unchanged. As soon as I try to quit the side effects and complaints get worse. I would not recommend this to anyone, it’s very addictive.

Once tried to stop with the help of my GP but it didn't go well and I'm still on it. Want to come off it but not allowed.

This medicine has changed my life. I could function without, but not without problems. I was plagued by vague feelings of depression, fear and a feeling of not being able to cope. I was a single mom, on the dole, living in a very small house. Sertraline helped me to get in control. Without feeling depressed and fear I’m able to fight for my life. Now I have the life I wanted and I’m happy.

Hi, I'm 23 and I've got really bad PTSD and a generalised anxiety disorder. 4 months ago I started on 25 mg of sertraline and had a blood test after 2 months, it could barely be traced in my blood.. increased to 50 mg and had another blood test after another couple of weeks.. results were still too low. Apparently you should come out about 50 and I was at 8. So now I've upped to 100. Loads of s...

I've been on 25 mg Sertraline for 2 days now. I feel like I am being hunted and really anxious. It's all just too much for me. Is this normal?

Seems to work as far as it's supposed to. The side effects aren't noticeable in regular daily life. On the higher dose (200 mg) I definitely struggled with a beeping tone in my ears before I went to bed and for the first 3 months I had terrible problems with restless legs and ankles. For the intrusive thoughts it doesn't really do much for me (still suffering from them), compared to the previou...

At school and at home I learned a lot about psychiatric problems but I had never heard of a dysthymic disorder, until I had investigations to figure out why I was always feeling like I was. The search for suitable medicine was a harrowing one so I was happy when we discovered the third SSRI I was trialling seemed to work without too many side effects. I tried to come off it once but it was a ba...

I've been taking Sertraline for a while. In the beginning I did suffer from some side effects (dizziness, nausea, sweating), but I was asked to carry on. And it was so worth it! The side effects disappeared after not too long. So now I can once again enjoy my life with all the emotions I am supposed to feel without falling back in to the deep, dark pit of despair.

I started on sertraline in 2010 because of social anxiety. In the beginning say the first 3 weeks my symptoms got worse. But after 4 to 6 weeks a perfect result. My symptoms have totally disappeared. Few if any side effects any more.

Medication helps me cope with certain situations a bit better. I can let go of things more quickly and I'm not so obsessive over them. Unfortunately a lot of sweating in bed (I mean a lot) and I've put on 8 kilos. Does anyone know if this is fluid? i'm not really eating any more than usual.
