At the first injection. Dreadful what a medication, I should never have let it be done. It has made me so ill. It has shot into my shoulders, terrible pain, then to my hands with the end result of carpal tunnel syndrome. I had an operation 6 weeks ago on one hand and had hoped that it would get better but nothing doing. There's no point in having an operation on my other hand. Can't sleep becau...

I am taking this as it transpired after a bone density test that I've got osteoporosis in my back and hips. I was really surprised to hear it because I am very active, I think, I walk and cycle a lot and I've never broken anything so it doesn't quite make sense. But I'm taking the medicine anyway so that it doesn't get any worse.

For 3 years now I've been taking one capsule of alendronic acid a week. I adhere rigidly to the user guidelines. I'm very happy, don't have any horrid side effects. Walking/moving is even better. Feel top!

Because I was having to have one treatment or another every week for various things, I switched to the IV treatment (once a year). The complaints last for about a week and then they're forgotten about !!

Loads of problems within one week after the infection, diarrhoea and a burning feeling in my lungs. GP, respiratory consultant and manufacturer have no remedy. I read on one site that you need to drink a lot, 2-2.5 litres a day when you're on this medicine. Did that. The first week though the problems just got worse (Lung problems, bowels, fatigue, poor vision, poor sleep). now after 4 weeks th...

First time Aclasta- iv, 5 mg/100ml. After 8 hours the side effects started: a headache, , severe muscle aches all over my body and cold tremors, but no fever! After a day and a half and taking 2x 500mg paracetamol every 6 hours the side effects disappeared. I am back to normal, but it wasn't easy.

I've been taking Fosavance for more than 10 years and I've had no side effects. The reason for taking it was because osteoporosis was picked up on X-rays and I've had a number of broken bones. But I haven't had any more X-rays so I don't know if the Fosavance has made a difference to the progression of the osteoporosis.

Because I haven't had any milk or milk products (yoghurt etc.) for years, I had a DEXA. On the basis of the outcome I had to start taking D3 calci chews. I didn't think much of it because, basically speaking, I was worried that I would end up with arteriosclerosis. Eight years on the result of the new DEXA was disappointing… So I have to have these horrible chewy tablets again. Yeah, you could ...

Falling down on the street, I fractured my upper arm. I asked the surgeon for a dexa (bone density) scan, given my age and on account of the fracture. Had the dexa scan and, yep, osteoporosis. Prescribed Ibandronate for 5 years, 1 tablet a month as well as a daily dose of 2 calcium chews/vitamin D tablets. After 4 years, on the advice of my physiotherapist, asked for a new dexa scan to see if t...

Once a week I got up half an hour earlier to take this tablet, never had any problems with it. After spontaneous vertebrae collapse and broken ribs, I had to switch to prolia/denosumab. One injection every six months. But I really regret this. Muscle pain, a lots more joint pain, tiredness, can't walk as far and short of breath, wish I was still on the tablets.

contradictory advice. After a gastric bypass you aren't really allowed to eat any fat but I was told by the pharmacist to have my calci chew D3 with something fatty because this helps the vitamin D3 be absorbed better into your body. Also, my dose isn't given in the list above - I have 500 mg/400 IE and it's not there. And I don't have osteoporosis but I've been given it to prevent osteoporosis.

Apart from the active ingredients, the tablet consists mainly of sweeteners: aspartame, isomalt, sorbitol and sucrose. All bad for your health and make it taste disgusting. And you have to chew it! Yuck!
