I am taking this as it transpired after a bone density test that I've got osteoporosis in my back and hips. I was really surprised to hear it because I am very active, I think, I walk and cycle a lot and I've never broken anything so it doesn't quite make sense. But I'm taking the medicine anyway so that it doesn't get any worse.

For 3 years now I've been taking one capsule of alendronic acid a week. I adhere rigidly to the user guidelines. I'm very happy, don't have any horrid side effects. Walking/moving is even better. Feel top!

Once a week I got up half an hour earlier to take this tablet, never had any problems with it. After spontaneous vertebrae collapse and broken ribs, I had to switch to prolia/denosumab. One injection every six months. But I really regret this. Muscle pain, a lots more joint pain, tiredness, can't walk as far and short of breath, wish I was still on the tablets.
