I have a disease of my spinal cord (myelopathy). I have developed this because my spinal canal is too narrow (cervical stenosis high up in my neck). this damage means the signals don't always get to the right places, in my brain and in my body. where it is I have persistent neuropathic pain. the mixed up signals means that my brain thinks my left arm is on fire. and because of this fight with m...

I've got a neurostimluator but it doesn't seem to reach the nerve pain in my foot unfortunately. Been on Rivotril since Feb 2016, I started on 1 mg and I've now been on 4 mg for about 1 year. I take it in the evening so I can bear to have the duvet on and during the day I wear my orthopaedic boots with ankle support. Really happy with this drug. Have noticed any side effects.

I've got so much nerve pain, burning headaches, muscle pain, stomach pain etc. etc. I've also got fibromyalgia and have had for about 12 years tried all sorts of medication but I'm really sensitive to everything. Can't hardly do anything about it. Lyrica has taken away the feeling in my arms and legs, made it difficult for me to swallow and short of breath

To begin with this worked well but with an increase in the dosage came an increase of the side effects. Started on 0.5 in 2014 and ended on an average of 60 mg. Incredibly addictive, I always needed more and more because they were working less and less well. Now switched to methadone 2 x 0.5 mg p/d pain is sometimes almost completely gone and it works for a long time. Good way to get off oxy. N...

I had a hernia operation and now there is scar tissue on the area that is pressing on the nerves it's completely surrounded and there's nothing more to be done. An anaesthetist prescribed this drug for me at the pain clinic. After just one day I noticed a considerable difference, I can do things again and all without pain. It's like a revelation for me, I can now focus on my recovery. Arcoxia i...

After gradually increasing the dose over a period of 2 weeks I've noticed that the pain is somewhat more bearable. The nerve pain never disappears with any medicine but at least it's now bearable.

Good experience with medication. I've been taking this for 2 weeks now and hardly any side effects! I was really worried about this medicine but now I'm so happy that I've taken this step. I am sleeping better and every night I am now having lovely dreams, no nightmares for me. The chronic pain on my right hand side (nerve pain/fibromyalgia) is starting to reduce and I'm hopeful for the future.

All of a sudden I woke up with a stiff neck. Left if a week but the pain just got worse and painkillers did nothing for it. Now I've got severe pain in my shoulder that's radiating down to my elbow and wrist.

In a nutshell and chronologically: because of conversion disorder several things needed to be discounted. Nerve pain all over my body, cramps and symptoms of organ failure. Walking was not pain-free (standing on my feet). Built up to 2 x 300 mg a day. Got over a lot, coped with many problems. (Side effects: difficulty urinating, sometimes can't go at all, very dry mouth, jaw pain, headache, wei...

Been on 2 x 150 mg lyrica per day since May 2016, prescribed by the pain specialist. Because of it's reasonably good effect tried 2 x 75 mg after a few months. But for a while afterwards had a lot more continuing pain. So I was forced to go back up to 2 x 150 mg per day. Still not pain free even today but I've got a better quality of life. The side effects in the first two weeks were not pleasa...

this drug is worse than the illness but then when I want to stop all I hear is that I need to go and see a psychiatrist even though I don't have one! Side effects: altered personality, not myself at all, insomnia for 3-4 nights in a row, anxiety and panic, cold sweats and often feeling like I don't have a good life and have no future.

I am taking gabapentin to try to figure out if I do actually have nerve pain. After so many horrible side effects as I was getting used to it (mostly headaches and extreme tiredness) I am now, after two months, suffering really badly with hair loss and muscle pain. On top of that I have lost a lot of weight but that might have something to do with the fact that you can't have this medicine with...

After first having 50 mg Lyrica 3 x day, increased to 150 mg 2 x day because of nerve pain from a triple hernia. The only side effect I've noticed is a dry mouth. The problems I had with urine retention because of the hernia have been noticeably improved by the Lyrica as well.

After numerous operations I need to take long and short acting oxycodone. I've been on it for 2 years now and I just need to keep taking more and more. So addictive (spent a week trying to come off it in the hospital). So, don't take it for more than 2 weeks.

Following a fractured heel and operation severe nerve pain. Pain specialist prescribed lyrica with phased increase. Pain reduced in part. For the past month I've been having tingling in my head. Is this because of the Lyrica??? Really stressed and anxious. Like there's not enough blood getting to my head. Is this something that is known about can anyone answer this for me???

After 2 hernia operations and managing for 16 years. Permanently damaged leg nerves. Thank God that this helps with the terrible pain...I've been in pain my whole life...but it doesn't help, for example, with my back pain, only for my nerve pain. Unfortunately it is very addictive but for those who use it for chronic pain, the addictiveness isn't as great.

Good pain relief, better than with the morphine plasters! Been taking it now for one year .... Morphine plasters weren't doing enough and every year the dose had to be increased a couple of times. I also had to regularly take something else with them! But with this, so far I haven't needed to! Pain score better feel much better with this drug than when using morphine plasters!
