Experiences with Diabetes type 2

Constant headache that goes away with paracetamol but comes back again straight away. Blood sugars on the high side. Difficulty going to the toilet. Dizziness and difficulty seeing. Nauseous all day long. Stopped taking it myself. Symptoms went away.

Victoza has helped really well to get my blood sugar levels down. I've also lost loads of weight. But now I'm losing a lot from my arms and my legs. Like my bones are sticking out. Unfortunately I've still got a bit of a tummy. Very odd. Be good to know if any one else has these symptoms.

My blood sugar levels on 1 then 2 and now 3 x per day still flip between 9 and 7, average is 8.4. Actually not as bad a result as without pills. Irregular bowel movements with cramps. Read about heart problems associated with long-term use and that's why I want to stop.

I've been using metformin for 11 years, first 2 x 500 and the last 6 months 3 x 500. it is not possible for me to live a normal life. Right from the beginning I had problems going to the toilet (diarrhoea). Now, after so many years, I can only go outside if I've taken 3 loperamide capsules. Tiredness and no motivation to do anything. Trying to convince my GP to let me try something else than metformin. But no joy yet. I'm going to increase the pressure because I have so had enough of this. I feel like I have no life any more....

After being diagnosed with "Diabetes Mellitus Type 2" (2011) started taking Metformin. To start of with I was on 2 x 250 mg a day but quickly increased to 3 x 850 mg. I stopped taking this after all these problems in the night. If was about 40 I suppose I might have carried on but now that I'm 71 and finally really quite happy with my lot I want to make sure I enjoy the rest of my life as much as I can.

As soon as I started taking this medicine the side effects started with a vengeance. Need to go to the toilet every half an hour. In the beginning of the week, often Monday-Thursday, I feel nauseous and sometimes feel like I need to throw up. This has affected my appetite. Little desire to ear anything which is of course a good thing. I have so far lost 2 kg and I hope to lose more.

had all sorts of different medicines and now this! how ever much I have it's over 20, just tested and it's 21.3 meh and painful legs, stinging all over and so so tired, this is not good.

To start off with I had good results with this medicine. Slowly though it became less effective and increasing to 3 tablets in December 2016 didn't have any effect at all.

Use this medicine because I increased my glicazide to 3 x 80 mg and it wasn't effective any more. My glucose levels have significantly decreased. This morning down to 5.5. Before that it was 10+. I have had another hypo at 3.6. Ate too little, I think.

Unexpectedly I experienced 4 nights of heavy nosebleeds. It was really extreme: 3 soaking towels, my bathroom was a mess and then after three quarters of an hour it stopped. The last time big blood cloths appeared which were stuck in my throat. After the last nose bleed it struck me that Gliclazide could be the cause. Every three months I have a blood test in the hospital. It would appear that during the night my blood sugar levels increase. In the mornings it's 10. During the day it's usually about 6. Straight away this medicine gave me hypos. I constantly need to go to the toilet and overnight I have to get up about every hour to go to the toilet. On the third day that I took this medicine, I got a bladder infection.
