After being diagnosed with "Diabetes Mellitus Type 2" (2011) started taking Metformin. To start of with I was on 2 x 250 mg a day but quickly increased to 3 x 850 mg. At this dose, my glucose levels are perfectly under control. I've have bowel problems from day 1. They were getting worse and in 2015, when I was on holiday in England, I needed acute medical intervention. My large intestine seemed to have been blocked and swollen. After it was removed I carried on taking Metformin 850 mg 3 times a day. The pain symptoms I mentioned earlier have disappeared. So for me, this medicine hasn't caused any side effects.
