Unexpectedly I experienced 4 nights of heavy nosebleeds. It was really extreme: 3 soaking towels, my bathroom was a mess and then after three quarters of an hour it stopped. The last time big blood cloths appeared which were stuck in my throat. After the last nose bleed it struck me that Gliclazide could be the cause. My GP looked it up and it does appear to be a very rare side effect. Apparently it breaks down my red blood cells. I stopped immediately and haven’t had a bloody nose since.
