Naltrexone (50MG) for Fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

I tried naltrexone at a low dose of 4.5 mg dose years ago, and it had no effect on my pain levels. But at a higher dose (I started with 24.5 mg and now take 50 mg) it is extraordinarily effective. I'm thrilled with this result, but I worry about the long-term effects, so I do not plan to take it indefinitely. The side effects - energy, a spacey feeling - I find pleasant. But this also makes...

Amitriptyline (10mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

After many sleepless nights by pain, I have been prescribed this plea from the GP. Initially 1 x 10 mg, but this did not prove sufficient. Dose doubled. This seemed efectief. I suddenly slept much better and my muscles were less painful. But.... I suddenly noticed that I stayed very tired. I just fought until 2 years to get away from chonic fatigue and it seemed like I was completely restored...

Amitriptyline (25mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

I started on this drug 20 years ago, when I couldn’t do anything anymore, no walking, no sitting, nothing. Started with 25mg and am now taking 75mg a day. Some days I can still get away with just 25mg. I can function normally and just do my thing.

Diclofenac

Diclofenac (25mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

I've been taking this drug for pain from fibromyalgia and mild arthrosis for years. If I stop taking the Diclofenac it doesn't take long for me to stiffen up and for the pain to start. I haven't noticed any side effects, at the moment I am taking 2 x 25 mg a day. I don't take any gastric protectors with it any more because I suspect that years of using them are what caused my osteopenia. (early...

Mirtazapine

Mirtazapine (15mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

I've taken Mirtazapine for chronic depression for years, mostly to be able to sleep properly. Worked as soon as I took the first pill after years of sleep problems. Calms my thoughts down. I have come off it once but the sleep problems came back together with severe fatigue. So I'll be on this for life. Don't have any side effects at all any more. I'm really happy with it.

Pregabalin (75mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

I started off taking 2x 25 mg in the first week, then two weeks on 2x 50 mg and I'm now taking 75 mg. I really think this is a fantastic drug. Since I was 16 walking has always caused me pain and now I'm virtually pain-free. It's only if I've had a stressful day or I spent too long on my scooter that the pain comes back. Up to now I have also been using fentanyl plasters but I want to stop taki...

Oxycodone (20mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

After years and years of taking tramadol the pain I was getting with my fibromyalgia was getting worse and worse. After reassessment I was prescribed oxy and up till now I am quite happy with it, not many problems with side effects but that might because because I've been taking tramadol for so long. It doesn't take all my pain away, but it helps with the worst of it.

Amitriptyline (25mg) for fibromyalgia (FM or FMS)

Using it for 3 months; increased from 1 x 10 mg tbl at night to 2 x 25 mg tbls. I have slept much better since taking this medicine but it doesn't give me any pain relief during the day. Personally few side effects, somewhat sleepy for the first few days and light-headed but that was over in a week. Tomorrow evaluation with the GP about the ongoing pain in the day...probably will have to switch...
