Works brilliantly for (severe) facial pain. Facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia). Throughout the day countless bouts of shooting pains in my left cheek. From dentist to GP to neurologist. After having kidneys checked and an MRI scan: Lamotrigine. In 4 weeks increased from 25 to 100 mg. In the meantime coming off 500 mg Naproxen that only helped a little bit. I recently had my first attack of trigeminal neuralgia and it was suggested I start taking ibuprofen/paracetamol/tramadol. That didn't help so I switched to Tegretol (carbamazepine) on prescription. After a couple of weeks I'm on the maximum dose of 3×200 mg a day. Tooth ache/eye pain/headache totally disappeared after a couple of days, but I now sleep half the day away ...

Lyrica is indispensable for me. Tegretol and Keppra made me really ill, even affected my liver function. I've been taking Lyrica by Pfizer for years but now I've got Sandoz and it doesn't work so well and really dizzy.

I was given this and I've got bad side effects, palpitations, deafness, and I stopped after one week because I was having such bad palpitations. I thought I was having a heart attack. If you've got heart problems then watch out for this medicine! Nightmare. I still have palpitations today, I don't know if they're going to go away, otherwise it's back to the GP!
