Facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia). Throughout the day countless bouts of shooting pains in my left cheek. From dentist to GP to neurologist. After having kidneys checked and an MRI scan: Lamotrigine. In 4 weeks increased from 25 to 100 mg. In the meantime coming off 500 mg Naproxen that only helped a little bit. Once I'd got up to 100 mg, the pains had completely disappeared But: now and then still a bit of itching. Side effect: slightly reduced sense of balance but after a month virtually totally gone. No other side effects.
