Since I started taking these I've been really struggling with panic attacks, but I didn't make the connection at first. Then I spoke to someone, stopped taking these and the panic attacks disappeared as well. So now I'm looking for an alternative, has any one got any ideas? I don't want a coil, though.

I've been using these pills for 5 years and I've always had these problems but I didn't know they were from using the pill. I'm almost always moody, I never want to do anything, don't have any sexual desire. I've often got a headache and I'm basically always tired. I'm going to the GP this week to see if there's another pill I can try.

Started taking this pill when I was 14 because I was having such heavy, irregular periods. I'm now 21. The side effects started very slowly and I didn't know that it was anything to do with the pill tbh. I've noticed a drastic drop in my libido, I've put on over 10 kg and often have depressive thoughts. Seriously considering switching to the mirena.

after 28 years of being on the pill, switched to the mirena and from the first day I felt better, not that I didn't have any problems with is but life felt better with fewer hormones, lost 2 kilos so no tummy any more and my libido is back, no more periods and bad moods. So, don't just carry on taking the pill for years, regardless.

I have just started taking these pills because of serious stomach ache during the menopause. Since I've been taking them I still have severe stomach ache, I feel really sleepy and have little to no appetite… I have no idea if the side-effects should come on so quickly, I have no idea what else might happen either.

I've always had the most horrendous periods. They came every 3 weeks and they were heavy. 3 months ago I started taking this pill. It took a while in the beginning to get used to the hormones and I didn't always feel great but before I started on the pill my mood was just awful! After about one month I felt great, I hardly have any periods any more and I feel fantastic.

I've been taking this pill for around 7 years. I've always suffered with mood swings using this pill but this past year it had become increasingly worse. I felt really low and had no motivation at all. I felt so bad that I suddenly decided to stop taking it to see what would happen. And I am so happy that I have stopped. After 6 weeks I can say that I feel like a new person. What a relief.
