I chose to have implanon because it's supposed to be very user-friendly. You can't forget it and it's an excellent contraceptive. It certainly did the job. I hardly had any periods, that was great. But I'm noticing more and more problems. Depression, dry vagina, reduced libido, now and then extended periods of spotting. Probably also dry skin and eczema (but that will go over time). I really wasn't myself any more; less sociable, more anxious, low self esteem, more difficulty getting excited, couldn't get enthusiastic about things. I had it taken out a month ago because the negatives were starting to outweigh the positives. And we've now got enough money to afford a chid. Just using natural contraception now ;-)
