Zolmitriptan (2,5mg) for cluster headache
Chronic cluster headaches since 2007. Verapamil has always worked for me. But I had to take more and more (420 mg a day). Then you have to stop for 6 months so that when you go back to it, it is more effective. Topirimate also worked for a while but it gave me really bad palpitations, stopped and afterwards insufficient effect (reverse familiarisation) Now no more prophylactic medicines for 6 months. For me, zolmitriptan is the best pain reliever. At the moment 3 a day. In Belgium you can't get this on the health service so it really takes its toll on your personal insurance. I'm trying to stay positive and hope that these cluster headaches can be better treated in the future. Best wishes to all my fellow sufferers.
