Experiences with Ulcerative colitis

Started with Asacol after my diagnosis. In the beginning it seemed to help but the medicine isn't strong enough to fully suppress the inflammation unfortunately. Apart from that no problems with any side effects.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in March 2017. I was immediately started on a 6 week course of prednisolone in addition to 4 mg of Pentasa each morning and a Pentasa suppository every night. Once I'd finished the prednisolone, the problems started. Pentasa worked really well for a good year and a half, no complaints, no side effects. Stopped after this year and a half all of a sudden with side effects so they prescribed me Medrol in combination with Imuran.

Actually really happy about using Humira. It's really good at keeping my illness (ulcerative colitis) under control. Of course, the injections aren't exactly a fun thing to have to do, but I only have to do one every two weeks.
