Omeprazole (20mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

After using omeprazole for 2 months for diaphragm hernia, I now need a hearing aid! Stopped as soon as I realised it was affecting my hearing in my good ear (the other is damaged as a result of operations) Switched to ranitidine which works well and hasn't given me any problems. Omeprazole shouldn't be prescribed to old folks.

Sometimes if I eat too late or drink alcohol I get reflux. So then I take an omeprazole with a Rennie and I can then sleep through without the heartburn waking me up.

Levothyroxine (25ug) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

I take Levothyrox 25 since the year 2002 and I have never had a problem. Since the beginning of the year, I have big stomach problems, burning in the esophagus, fatigue, hot flashes. I had a fibroscopy but I did not find anything. I also saw an ENT. But nothing on that side either. Now I wonder whether it's not from the Levothyrox. I'll talk to my doctor on my next visit.

Omeprazole

Omeprazole (20mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

Definitely helps for reflux! Only problem was that I got gigantic headaches after a couple of weeks, 2 weeks after I stopped it went away. Started again and after a few days the headache came back, as well as a strange feeling of pressure on my forehead, like my BP was too high or something, and a red face

Omeprazole

Omeprazole (10mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

After my stomach valve became defective, took Rennies for years before I went to bed. They don't help any more. After about 6 months of acid reflux overnight, started taking omeprazole. As soon as I did, I no longer had any problems. Now and then I do try to reduce it but then the reflux starts again. No side effects.

Esomeprazole

Esomeprazole (20mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

I take esomeprazole for terrible acid reflux and it works brilliantly. I've got HMS and sometimes my stomach valve doesn't close properly. It comes it fits and starts, sometimes nothing for weeks and then days, weeks or months of it every night. I also have omeprazole but I take them alternately as that's what works best for me. Luckily I don't have any problem with side effects! And if I don't...

Pantoprazole

Pantoprazole (20mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

I use metformin, simvastatine and galvus for diabetes type II. By using all of these gather I took my blood sugar levels low, around 6.5. I do suffer with a lot of acid reflux and it feels like my food is coming into my throat. My GP advised me to start taking pantoprazole 1 x 50 mg per day for a month. Follow up after one month and if there is no change I will have a colonoscopy.

Pantoprazole

Pantoprazole (40mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

My husband uses this. And lots of other stronger medicine too. Really suffered both day and night. All of this heartburn resulted in the start of oesophageal cancer. Then the valve between his stomach and oesophagus became constricted so he had an operation. Afterwards no more problems and the cancer had gone too. If we had known that, we would have had the operation a lot sooner!

Omeprazole (20mg) for gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GORD)

After 8 years of omeprazole use the muscle- bone- and nerve pains have increased over the last 5 months. I also experience nausea, dizziness and cold. My GP and specialists couldn’t find a cause for these symptoms so I was advised to stop this medicine in September. The pain is gradually disappearing; I’m still nauseous, headache and cold also remain. I’m hopeful these will also disappear in ti...
