omeprazole (20mg) for congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH)

I've finally figured out that some of these symptoms are caused by the medicine itself. Tinnitus, rash/itch 3 x a year, really painful mouth. I'd actually like to stop straight away and switch to a homeopathic remedy. Has anyone else got any experience of stopping quickly? Or coming off it slowly? Either way I definitely want to stop taking this. Are there risks with stopping suddenly? I've got...

Following a stomach perforation during an investigate surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia in May 2010. My family and friends were called on two occasions because it looked like I wasn't going to make it to the morning. Long-term use. Rarely monitored by GP. Have to ask for it myself. Not using it is not an option because of a rupture in my diaphragm. First time different brand. Can eat straight after taking it. With Sandoz I need to have the tablet an hour before my breakfast. A shame, but that's how it is.
