Once a month I have a (hormonal) migraine attack and I take sumatriptan once the attack is in full swing. Then it is extraordinarily effective, 30 to 45 minutes for it to take effect and then it's like someone has flicked a switch: the migraine disappears. It does make me really drowsy and my limbs feel really heavy. It doesn't say you can't drive but I most certainly can't when I've taken it. It goes away again after 3 to 4 hours. It's totally effective for my pounding migraine attacks so I'm really happy with it, but I can well imagine that you shouldn't take this medicine too often.
