Last year, for the second time, the GP fitted me with a Mirena coil because the first one had been in since 2009. The first time he warned me about the pain and advised me to take pain relief beforehand. When it was put in there was a brief painful stab and for the next day I was a bit dizzy on occasion. Apart from that no other problems. Additional advantage was/is that I no longer have any periods. I only get light spotting when I'm extremely tense or stressed. So last year I had the second fitted, took pain relief beforehand, the first few days I felt a bit crampy but afterwards nothing else. I'm extremely happy with it!
