It helps for the self-destructive tendencies, but stopping it brings the symptoms back.... but comparted to 75 mg Efexor (now on 75 mg venlafaxine) alprazolam, paroxetine (always used to work for me but once i'd stopped taking it and then started again I developed a toxicological response to it (a kind of psoriasis...not 100% though because it only happened after I started taking paroxetine again). Fluoxetine...this was the replacement for paroxetine after my skin complaints. Have to say that I've been taken these pills for years, Venlafaxine 150 mg and I really do think that it works.
