I have to take this for hereditary high cholesterol. I have also had 80 mg of simvastatin. That considerably reduced my cholesterol level in my blood. Lots of serious side effects. Tried it several times and each time I've had to stop taking it and use other statins, but getting more and more sensitive to them. It has probably affected my muscles more because of the combination of rheumatism and muscle disease.
