Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol (20ug/3mg) for contraception / birth control
I have switched from the mirena coil to the Yasmin pill and up to now I have been quite happy with it. I had the coil for years and I was fine with it until the last time, when I started retaining a lot of water and ended up putting on quite a lot of weight. I had the last coil taken out after 1 year and started using the Yasmin. I stopped retaining water, got my old life back and my weight back down to normal. Side effects: as far as I'm concerned, headaches (no headaches with the coil), tender breasts. But in general I am very happy with the Yasmin.
