I had it inserted during my period (the cervix is easier to reach during that time). I was very happy using Mirena at first. After 3 months my period disappeared. However after a year started getting serious acne problems. At first I didn't relate it to the Mirena, because I had a lot of stress during my studies. After graduation the acne remained and I started looking for side effects caused by Mirena: acne. I had it removed at once and got results after 4 weeks. After limiting my milk consumption the acne has disappeared completely.
