After having quite happily used thyrax for 20 years, this year I had to switch to an alternative. The pharmacist gave me Levothyroxine, made by Teva, at the same dose. Unfortunately, after a few weeks, I had all sorts of symptoms that I'd never had before: palpitations, tired, breathless. Is that suggestive of too high a dose? I'm having blood tests next week so hopefully they will suggest a solution. Or can I not do anything about this specific medication? As I've read on the Internet? But another often-mentioned alternative, euthyrax, leads to all sorts of problems. I'm starting to think that I need to prepare myself for a long period of experimentation until the right dose is found for me. And to wonder why Thyrax is no longer available!!
