A few years ago my pain levels in my neck and shoulders overnight increased. I wasn't getting enough sleep. It's difficult to keep the pain at bay. Amitriptyline is the perfect drug as far as this goes. But if you need to get to work and get up on time and be alert and awake it's quite difficult. I stopped taking it about a week ago and straight away I was waking up 2 hours earlier every day, from the pain as well, but still a bit more with it. But that's not enough so napping in the day with painkillers. I'm now on the look out for another drug, moving more, drinking more water, etc..
