I have had high blood pressure and swollen ankles for 25 years. I've had all sorts of investigations and tests including cardiology, been there 4 times, with different results and stories and no conclusions made. I've recently started taking Lisinopril 5 mg per day for high blood pressure and swollen ankles (oedema), prescribed by the internist. Hasn't really helped much, blood pressure still high. Under supervision increased to 10 mg alongside a water tablet furosemide every day. Side effects even worse, a 5 mg I got leg cramps and on 10 mg sudden stabbing pains in my back. My blood pressure is still high. Anyone recognise this? Going to the GP tomorrow.
