I am/was a healthy person until I developed this cardia arrhythmia and palpitations, mostly after excess exercise, drinking alcohol or stress. In the meantime I also noticed that, as time went on, the episodes were occurring more frequently. I was put on 1 50 mg tablet of metoprolol. The arrhythmia has stayed away but I can't manage even a sip of alcohol. My body had to work really hard to adjust to the metoprolol in the first 2 months, tired short of breath and dry eyes. The tiredness has since got better. I'm going back to the cardiologist soon and I'm curious to see if he advises me to keep taking the metoprolol or if I should have an ablation.
