Review about Cerazette

I am in perimenopause and started suffering with very heavy although regular and painless periods. I was prescribed this after several investigations didn't find anything more serious than a small fibroid. Started taking it on the first day of my period and bled for 11 days instead of the usual 7. Three days later I started bleeding again and bled for another week. I basically bled for the entire 3.5 months I was on this with several extremely heavy uncontrollable episodes, the last of which landed me in an ambulance and A&E. I stopped the pill that day and was prescribed a high dose of norethisterone which stopped the bleeding within hours. Never using cerazette again. Although progesterons seem to work for things like this, I felt as if the pill needed to be stronger or the dose doubled up (I am 10 st so not very big). Excellent contraceptive though, especially taking into account the constant bleeding! :/ Still recovering from anemia now on top of everything else.
