Been taking arcoxia 90 mg for about 10 months. This was for the treatment of an infection in my shoulder. To start off with the pain disappeared. After using it for 6 months it started becoming less and less effective and I noticed that I was retaining fluid in my fingers, toes and ankles. I put on 5-6 kilos within 2-3 weeks. On top of that there was heavy pain and cramp and stiffness in my fingers. I also had a lot of stomach and bowel problems despite using gastric protectors. I finally stopped taking Arcoxia 90 mg and on the advice of the rheumatologist I switched to prednisone 10 mg per day. Fingers, toes and weight back to normal. I'm now reducing the prednisone to 5 mg then 2.5 mg. Conclusion: be careful with the long-term use of Arcoxia.
